Statement

Data recipients should provide upfront information to help consumers understand and trust the process. CX research found that clear, early guidance increased confidence and helped consumers feel informed. When explaining the major stages of the Consent Flow, use plain, consistent language—such as Choose, Connect, and Confirm. Repeating these terms throughout the journey helps build familiarity with the CDR process. Providing this context before entering the flow encouraged users to explore CDR and reduced perceptions that the process was a ‘marketing trick’. This was especially valued by the Sceptic, Sensemaker, and Enthusiast behavioural archetypes.
